The U.S.-based photovoltaic module manufacturer SEG Solar has commenced operations at its newly built factory in Indonesia. The first phase of this project has an annual production capacity of 2GW, comprising four battery production lines.

Construction of the factory began in September 2024 at the Batang Integrated Industrial Park in Central Java. This milestone marks the first commercial production of SEG Solar's "high-efficiency N-type solar cells," which boast an industry-leading conversion efficiency of 26.4%.

Looking ahead, SEG Solar plans to gradually expand the factory's annual battery capacity to 5GW and establish a complete vertically integrated industrial chain encompassing silicon ingots, silicon wafers, solar cells, and modules.

Products manufactured at this Indonesian facility will be distributed to local markets and exported to Europe and the United States.
