With a total investment of 8.8 billion yuan, three key solid-state battery projects have been successfully implemented

Since the start of this year, frequent updates on solid-state batteries have emerged. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China has clearly listed all-solid-state batteries as one of the key priorities for core technological breakthroughs in new energy vehicles in its 2026 work plan. Since March, enterprises have successively released news related to solid-state batteries, marking that solid-state batteries are entering a stage of rapid development.

3.2 Billion Yuan Project Settles in Dong'an County, Hunan Province, China

According to the official website of the People's Government of Dong'an County, a signing ceremony for the project investment framework agreement was recently held between Dong'an County and Shenzhen Sanhezheng Energy Technology Co., Ltd. at the Dong'an County People's Government in Hunan Province, China.

Pursuant to the agreement, the project involves a proposed total investment of approximately 3.2 billion yuan, to be invested in three phases with a combined planned capacity of 5GWh.

Specifically, Phase I will see an investment of about 580 million yuan to build an annual production line of 1GWh solid-state lithium batteries, a fourth-generation factory building and a R&D center; Phase II will invest around 1.3 billion yuan to construct a new energy industrial park with an annual capacity of 2GWh and supporting facilities; Phase III will also invest 1.3 billion yuan to build another new energy industrial park with an annual capacity of 2GWh and related supporting infrastructure.

Upon completion, the project's products will cover solid-state lithium battery manufacturing, battery PACK, portable household power supplies, industrial energy storage, containerized energy storage, electric engineering vehicles, electric agricultural machinery and other fields. It will effectively fill the key gap in the new energy energy storage battery industry chain in Dong'an County, Hunan Province, China and drive the clustered development of upstream and downstream supporting enterprises.

4.8 Billion Yuan Solid-State Battery Project Lands in Zhanjiang, Guangdong Province, China

On March 30, 2026, a major project signing event for Xuwen County to advance in tandem with Hainan was grandly held at Lizhiwan Operation Area, Xuwen Port Area of Zhanjiang Port, Guangdong Province, China. A total of 17 major projects were signed at the event, among which the high-profile annual production line for 4 billion Ah quantum chip solid-state batteries and industrial park construction project officially settled in Xuwen County, Zhanjiang, Guangdong Province, China, marking a crucial step for Xuwen County in the new energy industry. Located in Xuwen Economic Development Zone, Xuwen County, Guangdong Province, China, the project boasts a total investment of up to 4.8 billion yuan.

Centered on new-generation all-solid-state lithium battery technology, it focuses on the large-scale production of quantum chip solid-state batteries, planning to build a battery production line with an annual capacity of 4 billion ampere-hours (Ah), and simultaneously develop a modern industrial park integrating upstream and downstream industries.

According to the plan, the project will not only build solid-state battery production lines but also gradually form a full industry chain closed loop covering "core component manufacturing – new energy vehicle production – energy storage system application – low-altitude economy supporting facilities – power battery recycling and reuse" by introducing clusters of upstream and downstream enterprises.

This layout will effectively promote the optimization and upgrading of the regional industrial structure, help Xuwen County and Zhanjiang area in Guangdong Province, China seize opportunities in strategic emerging industries such as new energy, energy storage and green transportation, and support the western Guangdong region in building a nationally influential highland for the new energy industry.

2.2GWh Solid-State Battery Project in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China Approved

On April 1, information from the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Online Approval Service Hall for Investment Projects, China showed that the 2.2GWh high-safety solid-state battery construction project of Guxin New Energy (Inner Mongolia) Technology Co., Ltd. has been filed and approved.

The project is located in Taigemiao Town, Tumed Left Banner, Hohhot, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China, with a total investment of 800 million yuan, including 150 million yuan of self-owned funds and 650 million yuan of bank loans.

The project is scheduled to be constructed from June to December 2026, covering a total area of 77.75 mu. Its construction contents include a 2.2GWh quasi-solid-state battery production line, a R&D pilot line, as well as supporting factory buildings, R&D buildings, warehouses and other facilities. Upon completion and operation, the project is expected to achieve an annual output value of 3.256 billion yuan and annual profits and taxes of 707 million yuan.

Corporate data from Qcc shows that Guxin New Energy (Inner Mongolia) Technology Co., Ltd. was incorporated on March 4, 2026, with Pang Guirong as its legal representative and a registered capital of 100 million yuan. Its business scope covers battery manufacturing, production of battery spare parts, battery sales, R&D of new material technologies, R&D of electronic special materials and more. The company is wholly owned by Desong Guneng (Shenzhen) Technology Co., Ltd., China.
