Chinese solar module manufacturer Trinasolar has signed two new agreements with ACWA Power to supply equipment for large-scale photovoltaic (PV) projects in Saudi Arabia, covering both module delivery and tracker systems.
Under the agreements, Trinasolar will supply PV modules for the 1.15 GW Haden Solar PV project and provide solar trackers for the 1.5 GW Al Khushaybi PV project. Both projects form part of ACWA Power’s expanding utility-scale solar portfolio in the Kingdom.
The Haden project is being developed by China Energy International Group. According to ACWA Power, construction is expected to be completed by July 2026, with grid connection scheduled for February 2027. Trinasolar has been supplying bifacial modules from its Vertex N series to the project since 2024. The modules feature a power conversion efficiency of 23.3%.
Once completed, the Haden project will contribute to ACWA Power’s growing solar capacity in Saudi Arabia. In 2024, the company began commercial operations at a 2.7 GW solar portfolio in the country, in which it holds a 50.1% stake.
In a separate agreement, Trinasolar will supply 900 MW of its 1P Vanguard tracker systems for the Al Khushaybi PV project. The deal marks Trinasolar’s first tracker supply contract compliant with Saudi Arabia’s “Made in Saudi” requirements, which are part of the government’s Vision 2030 program aimed at economic diversification and energy transition.
The tracker systems will be manufactured at TrinaTracker’s facility in Jeddah, which began commercial operations in February 2025 and has an annual production capacity of 3 GW.
“By combining world-class solar technologies with local manufacturing and on-the-ground execution, we are proud to support Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals of energy diversification, sustainability and economic growth,” said Todd Li, Head of Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa at Trinasolar.
