Energy technology manufacturer Fox ESS has unveiled its new CQ6 high-voltage battery energy storage system, targeting residential, commercial, and light industrial applications across Australia.
The CQ6 offers a single-unit capacity of 5.99 kWh and features a modular, stackable design that allows users to scale storage according to their needs. Fox ESS said the system’s flexibility makes it suitable for a wide range of settings, from suburban homes and regional properties to larger commercial and industrial facilities.
“The CQ6 is a high-performance, scalable battery storage system,” the company said, noting that its adaptable design supports diverse installation scenarios.
Fox ESS also emphasized that the CQ6 has been designed to align with recent updates to the Australian government’s Cheaper Home Batteries Program. With higher energy density, the system can deliver up to 48 kWh using eight battery units stacked in a compact configuration, meeting the program’s upper eligibility limits.
“Its streamlined design makes it an excellent choice for Australian homes and businesses seeking efficient and reliable energy storage,” the company said.
The CQ6 can be configured with up to 14 units connected in series, enabling a maximum storage capacity of 83.86 kWh per stack. When combined with compatible Fox ESS inverters — including the H1-G2, KH/HA Series, and H3 Series — the system can be further expanded. Paired with the H3 Plus inverter, three stacks can provide a total capacity of up to 251.58 kWh.
In terms of performance, the CQ6 operates across a temperature range of -25°C to 55°C, with storage temperatures from -10°C to 50°C. It offers more than 95% round-trip efficiency and supports 100% depth of discharge. Each battery unit measures 660 mm × 360 mm × 420 mm and is housed in an IP65-rated enclosure, making it suitable for demanding outdoor conditions.
Fox ESS added that the CQ6 has been designed with installers in mind, featuring a plug-and-play architecture that simplifies on-site work and enables faster, more straightforward installation.
