Trina Storage, the energy storage arm of Trinasolar, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Pacific Green Energy Group to supply up to 5GWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS) between 2026 and 2028.
Under the agreement, Trina Storage will provide advanced grid-scale battery systems for deployment across multiple sites in Australia and other international markets. Pacific Green Energy Group will lead the development and project delivery, enabling the systems to store and dispatch up to 5 billion watt-hours of electricity into the grid.
“This MoU marks a major milestone for both Trina Storage and Pacific Green in the global renewable energy landscape, including Australia,” said Helena Li, president of Trinasolar. “Together, we are combining innovation, global expertise, and local execution to enable a more resilient and sustainable energy future.”
The partnership builds on Pacific Green’s growing footprint in the Australian energy storage sector, where the company is developing multiple gigawatt-hour-scale projects. Recently, it raised AU$77 million (US$50 million) to advance its BESS development pipeline across several Australian states.
Pacific Green currently manages a global energy storage pipeline of 11GWh, including 7GWh in Australia and 4GWh in Europe. The company has also secured major offtake agreements, such as a 1.5GWh tolling deal with Zen Energy covering three BESS projects across Australia.
Scott Poulter, chief executive of Pacific Green, said the collaboration will support efficient project delivery across the company’s global pipeline.
“Together, we’re accelerating the deployment of projects that support the clean energy transition,” Poulter stated.
