Founder Group Secures EPC Contract for 30MW Solar Project in Malaysia

Malaysian PV solutions provider Founder Group has secured a RM10 million (US$2.3 million) engineering, procurement, construction (EPC) and commissioning contract for a 30MW large-scale solar power plant.

Under the agreement, the company will carry out civil and structural works, infrastructure development, installation, commissioning, testing, and interconnection for the project. The EPC contract was signed with “prominent” Malaysian solar companies, though further details were not disclosed.

Once operational, the plant is expected to generate around 60,000MWh of clean electricity annually, supplying nearly 60,000 Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs). Construction is slated for completion by the end of 2025.

“We look forward to deepening our engagement with key partners who share our vision of supporting Malaysia’s renewable energy ambitions and contributing to a greener, more sustainable future,” said Lee Seng Chi, CEO of Founder Group.

The latest deal follows Founder Group’s recent signing of a US$220 million memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Chinese polysilicon producer GCL Technology. Under the MoU, the two companies will explore and undertake renewable energy projects across Malaysia and the wider ASEAN region.

As part of the agreement, both parties committed to sharing information, implementing joint actions, reviewing progress regularly, and contributing technical expertise to advance identified initiatives.
