Global energy storage technology and software services provider Fluence, together with ACE Engineering, has inaugurated a new automated battery storage manufacturing facility in Bac Giang Province, Vietnam.
The facility, with an annual manufacturing capacity of 35 GWh, will produce Fluence’s Gridstack Pro and Smartstack energy storage systems. It features fully automated production processes designed to enhance productivity and quality control.
According to the companies, the new plant will significantly expand Fluence’s global production capacity for grid-scale storage systems amid surging demand for battery storage solutions. For perspective, the site could manufacture enough systems to deploy approximately 8.75 GW of 4-hour duration storage each year.
Gridstack Pro is Fluence’s flagship front-of-the-meter large-scale storage system, designed for utilities and independent power producers. It offers advanced safety certifications, including UL9540 and UL9540A compliance, and is engineered for deployment in capacity-constrained transmission networks.
Smartstack, meanwhile, is tailored to commercial and industrial applications, featuring a more compact footprint and integrated energy management capabilities.
“By combining advanced automation with rigorous quality standards, we believe we are optimally situated to meet stringent customer requirements and deliver competitively at the speed and scale the market demands,” said Julian Nebreda, president and CEO of Fluence.
