Jinko ESS, a global leader in energy storage solutions and a subsidiary of Jinko Solar Co., Ltd., has announced a new agreement with UK-based energy developer AGR Renewables for the delivery of a 140 MWh grid-scale energy storage project in the United Kingdom.

The project will utilize 28 units of Jinko ESS’s G2 5 MWh liquid-cooled containerized systems, with first deliveries expected in November 2025 and full commissioning scheduled for the first quarter of 2026.

Specifically designed for the UK’s variable and often challenging climate, the G2 system is engineered to perform reliably in temperatures as low as -10°C and high-humidity environments typical of northern regions. Its advanced liquid-cooling technology ensures tight temperature control across battery cells (±2.5°C), maintaining over 94% round-trip efficiency, even in cold weather.

In addition to performance, the G2 system meets stringent standards for environmental protection and operational safety. The containerized units are IP55-rated, providing resilience against rain and snow, and are equipped with multi-level safety mechanisms that comply with both international and local regulations.

The system is also integrated with an AI-powered Smart Cloud Management Platform, designed to optimize charge and discharge operations for maximum energy utilization and long-term asset performance.

“This project collaboration marks a high level of recognition of Jinko ESS’s technology in the UK market,” said Roberto Murgioni, General Manager of Jinko ESS Europe. “The G2 system is uniquely suited to UK conditions and will play a significant role in supporting the nation’s clean energy transition.”

The partnership with AGR Renewables reflects the growing demand for flexible, high-performance energy storage systems as the UK scales up its renewable energy capacity and grid modernization efforts. With its scalable architecture and intelligent controls, the G2 platform is positioned to play a vital role in enabling greater renewable energy integration and grid reliability.
