SUNOTEC, a leading European provider of integrated solar solutions, has entered into a strategic partnership with Sungrow, a global leader in energy storage systems and photovoltaic inverters, to deliver 2.4 GWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS) across Bulgaria. This landmark collaboration will support the development of multiple infrastructure projects, positioning them among the largest energy storage initiatives in Southeast Europe.
Backed by Bulgaria’s RESTORE Programme
A portion of the project portfolio will be supported by Bulgaria’s national RESTORE programme, which promotes energy storage adoption and modernization of the electricity grid. As part of the partnership, SUNOTEC will deploy Sungrow’s PowerTitan 2.0 solution—an industrial-grade energy storage technology widely recognized on international markets. Additionally, key components such as Sungrow’s SG350HX-20 string inverter and the MVS system will be integrated into a hybrid project combining photovoltaic generation with energy storage.
This cooperation marks the first deployment of Sungrow’s battery energy storage technology in Bulgaria, aligning with SUNOTEC’s mission to implement flexible, intelligent energy solutions that enhance grid performance and overall energy management.
Enabling Greater Renewable Energy Integration
With a total storage capacity of 2.4 GWh, the projects are expected to significantly improve grid stability, support greater integration of renewable energy, and enhance the operational reliability of SUNOTEC’s solar installations—both in Bulgaria and across Europe.
Sungrow’s regional teams across Central and Southeast Europe, as well as the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), will collaborate closely with SUNOTEC to ensure timely project execution and cost-efficient deployment of energy storage systems.
A Step Forward for Southeast Europe’s Energy Transition
By boosting Bulgaria’s energy storage capacity, this initiative strengthens the country's role in the regional energy landscape and contributes to the expansion of smart energy infrastructure throughout Southeast Europe. The SUNOTEC–Sungrow alliance exemplifies the pivotal role of energy storage in advancing the competitiveness, resilience, and sustainability of modern power grids.
