Recently, JA Solar has forged a technical collaboration with Sunkind Energy to support Sunkind's upcoming construction of a 2.4 GW solar cell and 4 GW module manufacturing facility in India. JA Solar's expertise in TOPCon cell technology will accelerate the localization of India's solar manufacturing industry.
“As India accelerates its transition towards renewable energy, the demand for high-performance solar solutions is at an all‑time high,” said Hanish Gupta, founder and managing director of Sunkind Energy. “Through this collaboration, we aim to deliver world‑class solar cells and modules that support India’s vision for self‑reliant, future‑ready industrial growth.”
Sunkind Energy initially established its business through the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) model, having successfully delivered over 150 MW of solar projects across multiple states in India.
In recent years, the company has shifted its strategic focus toward localized manufacturing, aiming to reduce import dependence and align with the Indian government's "Aatmanirbhar Bharat" (Self-Reliant India) policy. Key focus areas include: PV module and cell manufacturing,Energy storage systems,Electric vehicle charging infrastructure,Tracking mount systems.
