Leading global solar company LONGi signed an agreement with Pertamina NRE, a subsidiary of Indonesia's state-owned oil and gas company Pertamina, to establish a module manufacturing plant in West Java, Indonesia, with an annual production capacity of 1.4 GW. In a later announcement, LONGi said the site would boast 1.6 GW of annual production capability.
The plant will produce modules using LONGi's Hybrid Passivated Back Contact (HPBC) 2.0 n-type technology. This collaboration will advance Indonesia's renewable energy infrastructure development, create significant domestic employment opportunities, and stimulate local economic growth.
Pertamina NRE stated that the partnership supports Indonesia's Tingkat Komponen Dalam Negeri (TKDN) scheme, which mandates specific thresholds of locally sourced content in products—particularly for government procurement projects—while also meeting demand for high-quality solar photovoltaic modules in both the Indonesian domestic market and across Southeast Asia.
