Malaysia-based PV solutions provider Founder Group has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) worth US$220 million with Chinese polysilicon manufacturer GCL Technology. The agreement aims to jointly explore and develop renewable energy projects in Malaysia and across Southeast Asia.
Under the MoU, both parties will collaborate to identify and evaluate potential renewable energy opportunities throughout the ASEAN region. The partnership includes information sharing, joint project implementation, and regular performance reviews. In addition, the two companies will contribute their respective technical expertise to support project execution.
As part of the collaboration, Founder Group and GCL Technology will take coordinated steps to identify and secure viable renewable energy projects. Once projects are secured, a separate agreement will outline the specific roles and responsibilities of each partner, including support and data-sharing commitments.
The companies will utilize internal resources to assess tender opportunities, draft business plans, and prepare proposals for selected projects.
He added, “This partnership also opens up promising revenue opportunities as we work toward building sustainable projects that not only drive top-line growth, but also boost margins and profitability—ultimately delivering significant value to our shareholders.”
