Jinko ESS, a leading global energy storage provider, has secured a 10MWh off-grid energy storage project in the Southeast Asia region. The system will supply dependable renewable power to remote factories and facilities, contributing to energy access and sustainability goals in the region.

The project includes two Jinko ESS G2 5MWh liquid-cooled systems and two 2.5MVA Jinko PCS SKIDs. Commissioning is expected in Q3 2025, and this project marks Jinko ESS’s first off-grid industrial-scale deployment in Southeast Asia.

Designed specifically for off-grid use, the solution integrates grid-forming (GFM) capabilities, real black-start functionality, and the VSG operation mode of the Jinko PCS. These features enable reliable power supply even in the absence of a stable grid, while supporting seamless integration with existing gensets and PV systems.

With a 94% round-trip efficiency, the Jinko ESS Suntera G2 system is expected to reduce diesel consumption by up to 90%, offering a more economical and environmentally friendly energy alternative. Its advanced liquid cooling system maintains battery cell temperatures within ±2.5°C—ideal for the region’s hot and humid climate—while multi-level fire isolation and AI-powered thermal management ensure safety in unmanned, remote settings.

“Southeast Asia’s energy transition requires robust technical foundations,” said Bright Wang, General Manager at Jinko ESS APAC. “Jinko ESS is honored to bring our liquid-cooled technology to support the region’s growing energy storage needs.”

This milestone project reinforces Jinko ESS’s commitment to accelerating the adoption of clean energy solutions in emerging markets.
