Origis Energy Secures $530M to Power Two Major US Solar Projects

Origis Energy, a U.S.-based renewable energy company, has secured a $530 million financing agreement with Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) to support the construction of two large-scale solar projects in Indiana and Mississippi. The funding will facilitate the development of clean energy projects with a total installed capacity of 350 MW, primarily for the following initiatives:


The Wheatland Solar project(150MW)in Knox County, Indiana:Scheduled for completion in the first half of 2026, this project has already signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with CenterPoint Energy.


Optimist Solar + Storage Project in Clay County, Mississippi: Comprising a 200 MW of solar power and 50 MW 4HR of energy storage, the project is expected to begin operations in early 2026. It has secured a PPA with the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA).


Origis Energy will serve as the developer, owner, and operator for both projects. The company recently closed a $415 million financing round for the Swift Air Solar Project in Texas, further expanding its footprint in the U.S. renewable energy market.
