A subsidiary of Hainan Drinda New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. — Jietai Solar (Hong Kong) — recently signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Turkish solar leader Schmid Pekintaş Energy. The parties will jointly establish a high-efficiency photovoltaic cell production base in Türkiye, deploying Drinda’s N-type TOPCon technology at a planned capacity of 5GW.

This project targets critical bottlenecks in Türkiye’s domestic PV supply chain. As a major solar module manufacturer in Türkiye and Europe with over a decade of experience, Schmid Pekintaş Energy operates in a market where local module capacity exceeds 15GW (Europe’s largest). Nevertheless, Türkiye faces severe shortages in advanced cell production, importing approximately 10GW of cells annually as per industry data.

Drinda has accelerated its global expansion recently, achieving PV cell shipments of 33.74GW in 2024 — over 90% from N-type products with >50% YoY growth. Its overseas sales ratio jumped from 23.85% in 2024 to 58.00% in Q1 2025 according to its official reports.

The Türkiye collaboration marks a pivotal breakthrough in Drinda's overseas manufacturing strategy. Leveraging dual capital platforms, the company is advancing technology licensing and localized production to optimize global supply chains.
