On May 30, Canadian PV maker Heliene celebrated the opening of a new solar PV module manufacturing facility in RogersMinnesota, boosting its total US annual module production capacity from 800 MW to 1.3 GW.

The company's two existing lines are located in Mountain Iron. Its inaugural 300 MW line, commissioned in 2018, was upgraded to produce TOPCon modules in 2023. The second 500 MW line became operational in 2022.

The project is expected to create over 220 positions in production operations, engineering, and operational support, with recruitment currently underway.

In March this year, Heliene announced partnerships with US solar cell manufacturer Suniva and materials giant Corning Incorporated to launch the only modules incorporating US-made polysilicon, wafers, and cells, strengthening its integrated US manufacturing strategy.
