Chinese solar tracker manufacturer Arctech has signed a significant agreement with Indian renewable energy firm ACME Cleantech Solutions to supply 175MW of its advanced solar tracking systems for a large-scale green ammonia facility near the southeastern coastal region of Duqm, Oman.

As part of the agreement, Arctech will deliver its SkyLine II 1P single-axis solar trackers, specially engineered for challenging environments. The trackers will support a green hydrogen project designed to produce 300 metric tons per day (MTPD) of green ammonia. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in July 2025 and will proceed in multiple phases.

“This collaboration marks an important milestone in our green hydrogen journey,” said Vipin Aggarwal, Vice President of Procurement for Green Hydrogen and International Business at ACME Cleantech Solutions. “We are confident that Arctech’s advanced tracking solutions and strong execution capabilities will enable us to optimize energy efficiency and reliability, even under the demanding coastal and high-wind conditions of Duqm.”

The Duqm site presents a set of environmental challenges, including sandy terrain, high solar radiation, extreme heat, and strong winds, alongside C5-level corrosion exposure typical of coastal deserts. Arctech’s SkyLine II tracker system has been designed to operate reliably in such environments. With the ability to maintain stability at any tilt angle while tracking the sun, SkyLine II enhances energy capture while minimizing structural stress. When idle, the system reverts to a flat, horizontal position—improving its wind resistance and reducing operational downtime.

The project is part of Oman’s national strategy to accelerate its transition to renewable energy. The Oman Power and Water Procurement Company (OPWP) is leading efforts to diversify the country's energy mix, with a roadmap that includes concentrated solar power (CSP) and other utility-scale clean energy solutions. The nation aims to generate 35–39% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2040.

The Arctech–ACME partnership reflects a growing trend in cross-border collaboration to advance clean energy goals. By integrating solar power into green hydrogen production, the project represents a forward-looking model for sustainable industrial development in the region.
