Seoul, May 27, 2025 — Chinese battery technology supplier REPT Battero and South Korea’s Hyosung Heavy Industries signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on energy storage cooperation in Seoul.
Under the agreement, REPT Battero will supply Hyosung with a total of 2.5GWh of energy storage products, with both parties planning to accelerate global market penetration through resource synergy.
REPT Battero will provide energy storage cells, modules, and DC containers, along with technical support for system design integration and quality control.
The energy storage cells supplied by REPT Battero feature its next-generation 392Ah design, delivering an energy density of 415Wh/L and a cycle life exceeding 12,000 cycles.
The accompanying Powtrix DC containerized energy storage system offers a capacity of 6.26MWh. Integrated with AI-driven operation management and active balancing technology, it reduces downtime by 20% and increases battery utilization by 15%.
Hyosung Heavy Industries (founded in 1977), a leader in South Korea’s high-voltage power equipment sector, holds over 80% market share for 400kV transformers in Norway and has accumulated circuit breaker sales exceeding KRW 10 trillion (approximately RMB 53 billion) globally.
Leveraging its worldwide power equipment distribution network, Hyosung will lead product localization, international certification, and global market expansion for this collaboration.
